Dipak Basu has spent much of his life employing technology in humanitarian missions worldwide. In 2006 Dipak set up Anudip Foundation, a social enterprise to improve livelihoods of India’s rural poor. In 2001he co-founded and served for four years as Executive Director of US-based nonprofit NetHope, a technology alliance of the world’s largest aid agencies. From 1995 to 2006, he held senior management positions in Product Management and Professional Services at Cisco Systems.
Dipak holds a BTech. from IIT Kharagpur and a MSEE from the University of Southern California. He has been a guest lecturer in Computer Science at IIT Delhi and has won the Tech Laureate award for IT in Humanity and the President’s Award from Save the Children. Dipak is a Cisco Leadership Fellow, a Reuters Fellow, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.
