Held at the the David Auditorium at Columbia University, this panel discussion will discuss

The Moderator & Panelists

The event will be moderated by Joya Dass, anchor for NY1 and CNN, and the panel will feature AIF Fellows that have had a significant impact on development in India.  The panelists include:

Ramya Sekaran, People’s Watch
Assessed the functioning of India’s national and state commissions for women and assisted at the proceedings of a national-level public hearing on children’s rights.

Jennifer Chowdhury, Jeevika Development Society
Created standard reporting mechanisms to document cases of violence against women in villages and helped create broad-based marketing and outreach campaigns.

Rushabh Kapashi, The Ant
Assisted a number of underprivilaged artisan groups with business development initatives and for-profit capital raising activities.

Kishore Eechambadi, Seva Mandir
Worked with village entrepreneurs in India to build up successful microenterprises and promoted strengthening the livelihood of rural villagers through grassroots microenterprises.
