Lata Krishnan to Receive Haridas & Bina Chaudhuri Award
The California Institute of Integral Studies will present the 2014 Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri Award for Distinguished Service to Indian American entrepreneur Lata Krishnan at a ceremony April 26 at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto.
Krishnan is receiving the award in recognition of her leadership, insight, philanthropic perseverance, and dedication to improving the quality of lives in the Bay Area and worldwide, said a press release.
The Chaudhuri Award is named for the university’s co-founders, Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri.
Previous recipients of the award include Deepak Chopra, Kavita N. Ramdas, and Mani L. Bhaumik.
Krishnan is the CFO of Shah Capital Partners and a board member of Silicon Valley Bank Financial Group. She is chair of the American India Foundation, an organization with a long-term commitment to accelerating social and economic development in India and to strengthening the bonds between the United States and India.
She is a Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and serves on the board of The Commonwealth Club of California.
