At the Making India Employable Conference & Awards (MIECA) in November 2025, Nishant Pandey, CEO of the American India Foundation (AIF), received the prestigious “CEO of the Year” award, which honored his leadership for driving measurable impact on education, skilling, and employability across India.

When Nishant took on this role eight years ago, he led with both confidence and trust in his team. The years since have been marked by learning, leading, and listening. His conviction in team collaboration and shared leadership to achieve results has guided AIF’s work and strengthened its culture.
The MIECA 2025 ceremony, which brought together leaders from industry, government, and academia, a celebration of leadership measured not by titles but by impact. The event featured panel discussions highlighting the urgent challenges and opportunities in India’s employability landscape, the launch of a book titled “Accelerating Impact: Enabling Dreams,” and an awards presentation followed by a networking dinner.

Nishant’s recognition as CEO of the Year reflects both his personal dedication and the collective efforts of AIF’s teams, partners, and communities. In fact, he was quick to point out the irony of the award title, which “celebrates one person in a mission powered by shared leadership” while “our teams, donors, and government partners are the real CEOs here.” Nishant Pandey’s journey at AIF is a testament to the power of leadership, vision, and collaboration in driving excellence, vision, and collaboration in creating systemic change. His work demonstrates how focused leadership, combined with inclusive, service-driven strategies, can empower communities, transform workforce development, and set a benchmark for national excellence in employability and education.

At AIF, the focus isn’t simply on creating jobs; it’s on building job-ready systems. From skilling and digital learning to disability inclusion and leadership programs, AIF seeks to recognize and nurture talent beyond circumstance, giving women, youth, and persons with disabilities the tools to contribute as builders of Viksit Bharat. The award, as Nishant emphasized, belonged to the teachers who turn digital classrooms into laboratories of imagination, the women and young people who refuse to be limited by situations, and the partners who understand that inclusion isn’t just a Corporate Social Responsibility priority; it’s smart strategy.
For Nishant, the work is far from complete. “I’ll accept this award with gratitude and a reminder that the job isn’t done. Not until every young Indian can say, ‘My job found me, not the other way around.’ That’ll be the day I retire. Until then, I’ll just keep showing up,” he said, as he accepted the honor on behalf of AIF.

AIF is proud to l continue to champion programs that empower communities, expand opportunity, and strengthen India’s workforce for the future.
