Highlights: Vishal comes to AIF with a background in development and economics. He has worked on livelihoods and microfinance projects in the rural areas of Maharashtra and Telangana, and subsequently developed an ICT based networking method for self-help groups. Vishal also led the quantitative research team at a tech-based nonprofit working towards informing voters for promoting accountability in governance in the city of Mumbai. As a member of the research team of India Disasters Report III, he analyzed the effectiveness of post-tsunami interventions on livelihoods, health and other socio-economic indicators. While at graduate school, he presented research in political economy of water regulation at IIT Madras and attended a summer school in leadership and international development by Duke University and IIM at Udaipur. Vishal is passionate about the applications of technology to help accelerate social and economic change.
