Highlights: While completing her post-graduation for a Masters of Social Work from Visva-Bharati University, Ananya had the opportunity of field immersion with indigenous communities of India. She participated in an ASER survey, Pulse Polio Drives, the “One Billion Rising” campaign, and generating awareness on HIV/AIDS through the Red Ribbon Club. Previously, Ananya worked at Pratham, focusing on the problems of children of Tea Tribes in Northeastern India. She’s also worked with Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (formerly known as Primitive Tribal Groups) of Jharkhand state, for ensuring their nutrition and food security. Her immense interest in campaign building has made her play an instrumental role in organizing National Conventions of Right to Food Campaign and in designing the state-wide drive for the universalization of maternity entitlement for all women. Ananya was selected as one of 30 Changemakers of the nation in “She Creates Change” of Change.org. Ananya strongly believes in the learning capacity of children. In her free time, she enjoys singing and music, especially playing guitar.
