Highlights: While attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for his undergraduate studies, Max focused his political science and global studies coursework on human rights. He subsequently became a member of the Human Rights Program's Student Advisory Board, carrying out human rights-focused programming on campus and also interned with the Refugee and Immigrant Program at the Advocates for Human Rights in Minneapolis, assisting with asylum cases. He was also a recipient of the U.S. State Department's Critical Language Scholarship through which he studied Arabic in Amman, Jordan. Since graduating, Max has been in Detroit, Michigan working in neighborhood stabilization to educate residents on homeownership and assist them in acquiring property, create plans for housing development, and implement community development initiatives.
