On Saturday, May 9, 2015, the AIF New York Young Professional Chapter (NYYP) hosted its 8th Annual Gala at the Angel Orensanz Foundation. With more than 200 people in attendance, the gala attracted young professionals from a variety of sectors, some of whom were attending their first AIF event.
Ruchir Sharma, the Managing Director of Emerging Market Equities at Morgan Stanley, was the keynote speaker of the evening. Sharma spoke about growing up in India and his illustrious career path. In addition to the night’s numerous activities, the NYYP Board conducted both a silent & live auction, raising funds and awareness for the Learning and Migration Program. In total, $5,817.70 was raised; these funds will provide over 100 children of Indian migrant workers with an education for one whole year.
