Arvind Raghunathan


Arvind Raghunathan is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Roc Capital.  Raghunathan and his associates founded Roc Capital in June 2009, in partnership with Deutsche Bank.

Prior to founding Roc Capital, Raghunathan was a Managing Director and head of Global Arbitrage at Deutsche Bank, and a member of the firm’s Global Markets Leadership Forum (GMLF).  He joined Deutsche Bank in 1999, having served a previous term there between 1995 and 1997.  Before joining Deutsche Bank, he was head of a proprietary trading group at Credit Suisse First Boston (“Credit Suisse”), where he served from 1992 to 1995 and again from 1997 to 1999.  He  received his Bachelor of Technology degree in 1984 from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988.  Upon graduating from Berkeley, Raghunathan was a faculty member of the Computer Science department at New York University and at the University of California, Davis. Among other philanthropic affiliations, Raghunathan has served on the Board of the Dalton School, was a member of the advisory committee for the Asia Society, is one of the founders of the South Asia Initiative of Harvard University, and is an ardent supporter of Sankara Netrayala, a philanthropic hospital in Chennai.

Raghunathan was an  honoree for the 2007 Spirit of Asian American Gala, an event was hosted by the Asian American Federation.

Raghunathan is married to Sribala Subramanian, formerly a journalist with Time magazine. They  live in New York with their two children.
