In 2020, AIF quickly pivoted to address the critical situation in India and the United States. In India, AIF leveraged its programs’ infrastructure on health, education, and livelihoods via its wide network to address the needs of the nation with ventilators, PPE, and other interventions in order to save the lives of vulnerable Indians from COVID-19. In 2021, India recorded the world’s highest daily tally of 314,835 COVID-19 infections on April 22nd, as this second wave sent many more into a fragile health care system, critically short of hospital beds and oxygen. Working with our partners, hospitals, and governments, AIF has launched a three-pronged Phase 2 Emergency Response Strategy to address this crisis. Here is an overview.

Dr. Tasneem Chipty

Dr. Tasneem Chipty, Managing Director, AlixPartners  is an internationally recognized expert in competition economics and econometrics. She works with both private parties and government agencies in antitrust litigation and merger review. Dr. Chipty brings over 25 years of experience in a broad array of sectors, including healthcare, media, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications. Her work has been influential both internationally and domestically. Dr. Chipty has submitted testimony, been deposed, and testified at trial in several litigation matters. She has appeared before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, the World Trade Organization, the Canadian Mergers Bureau, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the U.S. Copyright Board, and the Canadian Copyright Board.Prior to joining AlixPartners, Dr. Chipty was Founder and Managing Principal at Matrix Economics. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Chipty has taught courses in antitrust and regulation, industrial organization, and econometrics at the Ohio State University, Brandeis University, and MIT. She has a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA, mathematics and economics from Wellesley College.
