Hema Gandhi is the CFO/COO for the American India Foundation (AIF) and in this role, she oversees the financial activities of the foundation and also provides strategic operational leadership to the foundation globally. Hema has extensive experience in the non-profit industry as well as the private sector, and she has successfully led major organizational initiatives and achieved substantial business results.
With over 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector Hema has worked with agencies that have provided services in the affordable housing sector, outpatient clinics and counseling, domestic violence, child care and maternity services, child abduction, foster care, occupational training for the developmentally disabled and residential programs. Over the years, Hema has helped develop partnerships amongst various non profits, major corporations and financial institutions so that they can collectively create substantial impact in targeted underserved neighborhoods.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Hema lives with her family in New Jersey. Hema has two undergradute degrees with a major in Financial Accounting and Auditing and she has pursued graduate studies with a focus on organizational management and leadership in the nonprofit sector.
