
Vimal Bahuguna
Vimal Bahuguna is President of Drona Group, LLC, an independent business-strategy advisory firm focused on life science industry and private investments. Previously, Mr. Bahuguna served as the Managing Principal of Bogart Delafield Ferrier, a boutique strategy consultancy. Mr. Bahuguna specializes in providing business strategy counsel to top management and Boards of Directors of large pharma and biotech startups as well as device and vaccine companies. He has led engagements that have made significant impact on R&D, business development, manufacturing and marketing functions across all key geographies. His prior work experience has spanned across Booz Allen Hamilton, Corning Glass Works and GD Searle (Monsanto). At Searle he was responsible for overseeing all prelaunch commercialization activities for the first billion dollar sleep aid—Ambien.
Mr. Bahuguna has consistently conceptualized and implemented industry-defining analytical constructs, e.g. Myth of Option Pricing, From Patents to Franchises and The Outlook for Virtual Pharmaceutical Companies with articles published in In-Vivo and Decision Resources. He was a member of the R&D Presidents’ Advisory Council to deliberate on early discovery targets. He is frequently courted for expert commentary on a range of issues affecting life science industry.
Mr. Bahuguna is passionate about raising thresholds for educational standards at all levels in India. Most recently, he was instrumental in founding the first business school for entrepreneurial education in India in collaboration with Babson College, Wellesley, MA. Mr. Bahuguna participates as an active leader at several not-for-profits and serves on the Development Committee of American India Foundation.
Mr. Bahuguna holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Master of Engineering Sciences from the Friendship University in Moscow, Russia, where he was a Government of India exchange scholar.
