AIF is excited to announce that Shraysi Tandon, a News Reporter for CCTV America, has joined AIF’s U.S. Advisory Council. Tandon will help AIF in its media and communications efforts in order to help the organization permeate its message across the globe.
“I’m honored to be a part of an organization that has an incredible track record in disrupting and reducing poverty in India,” said Tandon. “Through my media expertise, I hope to build greater awareness, launch campaigns, engage stakeholders and create further impact.”
Tandon, based in New York, covers business, economics and finance for CCTV. She is also a fill-in anchor for CCTV America’s daily business program “Global Business America.” As a reporter and co-anchor she has interviewed Israeli President Shimon Peres, U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, Academy Award winner Matt Damon, fashion designer Vera Wang and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak – to name a few. Prior to CCTV America, Shraysi was a reporter for Bloomberg Television based in Sydney, Australia. At 25, she became one of the youngest Bloomberg TV reporters and helped oversee Bloomberg TV’s Australia coverage, covering breaking political and business news stories.
“Not only does Shraysi bring her strong press and communications expertise to the table, but also her passion for AIF’s mission, and ultimately social and economic change in India,” said M.A. Ravi Kumar, the CEO of AIF. “Shraysi is going to be an incredible asset for both the U.S. Advisory Council and the organization.”
Shraysi earned a degree in political science and journalism from the University of Notre Dame in Australia. She has lived in five countries and 11 cities and is fluent in Hindi and Indonesian.
