Vishnupriya has spent the better part of the last five years in academia, completing her Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences and Masters degree in Contemporary India from Oxford University. During the process she has worked as a researcher in a genetic laboratory, a videographer in South India and as a consultant for NGO's. In particular, she is interested in how new media and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT's) can be brought into development initiatives. This interest began during her Bachelor's thesis on Computer Mediated Communication and Empathy and was cemented while observing the use of mobile phones in post conflict regions in Sri Lanka and Nepal as an M&E researcher for Generations For Peace, a conflict transformation NGO.
